Manusina Beach Fales

Address: Saleapaga, Lepa

Manusina Beach Fales was constructed in 1990 by Maka and Upu Vaaiga. While under construction, Maka witnessed a white bird known as the "Manusina" circling overhead day after day -  so he chose to name his establishment after the Manusina bird in hopes that his customers would feel the peacefulness and relaxation that the Manusina represents.

Maka and Upu operated Manusina Beach Fales for six years and built a strong reputation for their hospitality, friendliness & service. Unfortunately, Maka and Upu passed away in 1996. Maka's eldest son, Peni Vaaiga, continued to operate Manusina successfully until 2009 when the Tsunami struck  the south coastline of Samoa and devastated the Saleapaga region.

The Vaaiga's escaped safely into the montains but their village was destroyed. After this event,  there was great fear and uncertainty about whether to re-open Manusina. Eventually Taleo - Maka's youngest son decided to continue his father's dream and started the rebuilding process of Manusina. After months of reconstruction, the NEW Manusina Beach Fales are now open.
