Traveller Comments:
"The negative:
Difficulty with locating booking when we arrived. hot tired and not needing extra frustration
If hotel offered to organise taxi it was always $10 more expensive than if we walked outside to the taxi rank. When we did this and found a cheaper fare receptionist rolled her eyes. this receptionist somewhat unhelpful at other times
Room grubby and needs coat of paint. decor dated but if clean this would be acceptable.
shocking dust bunny under bed (i always look under bed in hotels for missing socks etc and have never seen anything like it before).
shower needs good scrub. i could make shower tiles cleaner by scraping with fingernail
expected fridge as per facilities on website but none in room.
got idea that nicest looking room on show for webiste but given worst room in place because had prebooked.
used communal kitchen fridge but not always room for food and water bottle went missing.
the positive
breakfast staff and cleaning staff very nice and helpful
porter and most reception staff very friendly

staff helpfully provided ice when i couldnt fit food back in fridge
pool area and eating area open fale beautiful - should promote this more on website
moved us to room with fridge on our return visit when i complained"

"I arrived at around 5.30am and the welcome consisted of a girl at the destk who did not speak but flipped through her books trying to find my name which was not there because they had not been notified by then website franchisee. I was then shown to my room which had not been cleaned. This was evident by the wet towel on the floor, the half used shampoo bottles in the shower and the un-made bed. There was nothing even close to a welcome or a smile. Upon leaving, I had the same treatment by the same girl who simply motioned to me to hand her the key while talking on the phone. The girls serving breakfast were pleasant and helpful and my room was cleaned after the first day. I also had trouble getting my bill sorted out because I had already paid some to the website franchisee but with no record of it was being charged the full amount. This was then sorted by the daughter in law of the owners who is from the U.S.A. and was prompt and helpfull. I am sorry to say that I would not choose to stay there again."
Mr. Kathy (Katharina) J. - Australia on 04/07/2009
"The location is quiet...then again, Apia is not the loudest place on Earth. The bath is temperamental - we lost water after midnight! My room looked jaded and the aircon was making loud noises. The place is a little dog-earred and a tad tired but it does have a swimming pool, which could be a good respite from Apia's humidity."
Mr. Xuess W. - Singapore on 13/01/2009
"the room was comfortable and the pool clean and lovely. breakfast was very basic, in fact i had to ask for jam, we were just given bread, butter, pawpaw, banana and coconut. tea and coffee are provided at breakfast but not available at any other time of day. a petty saving we felt on their part considering the cost of nz$145 per night. we heard from others who stayed in similar price places and had a far more pleasant stay with meals available, tea coffee water etc."
Mr. bruce g. - New Zealand on 17/10/2008
"The room was good but the bathroom needs a lot of work. The hot water was intermitent, the tiles were cracked and patched with silocane which had gone black. The extractor fan was cloged with dust.

The new pool and the deck out the back was a bonus."
Mr. Malcolm M. - New Zealand on 21/07/2008
"Large rooms, conveniently located to town, friendly staff and good value"
Mr. alan f. - Australia on 11/07/2007
"I do not want to be rude but as soon as I got there the receptionist made me run up how many stairs just to show the voucher Im sure she was doing her job but she seems very young inexperienced tried to argue with me. I had to ring around people just to get toilet paper. The water in the wash basin wasnt working and I left and it was still like that. But on the last day I assume it was the owner she was very polite and willing to help and had great customer service skills but I didnt want to go back."
Ms. Lediana M. - Australia on 28/08/2006
"Our plane was delayed 2 hours on arriving at 4.30am but still got a welcoming smile and greeting.
the room was clean and tidy and the air cond worked a dream.
we were up again at 8.30 for a breakast of fruit, toast, cerial and heaps of tea and coffee.
Staff was very helpful with smiles all around"
Mr. Sean P. - Australia on 04/04/2006
"Nothing that appeared in the Travel brochures was indicative of the rooms we stayed in.Air con did not work, fans in room did not work, most light globes were blown.
Staff were unsure of booking and were reluctant to recieve us thus making us feel unwelcome."
Mr. Stephen L. - Australia on 01/03/2006
