Savaiian Hotel
Fa'apoipoi and his wife Nola
Fa'apoipoi (aka Poi) is the eldest son of Englishman Roger Gidlow (the previous manager) and High Chief Gatoloaifa'ana Amataga Gidlow. Having done a bit of travelling himself, Poi is passionate about making his customers' stay an experience not easily forgotten. He comes from a family who are proud and well versed in their Samoan traditions and history and are enthusiastic about sharing these with all who are interested. Living and working in Savaii has seen him wear many hats and he is the hotel chef/mechanic/builder/landscaper/pool boy! Just a small reflection of his passion in the running of the hotel and ensuring guests are offered a truly memorable stay. He is often told the Savaiian is one of two things, "a haven in the bush" and "a home away from home".
