Traveller Comments:
"We stayed two nights at Sina PJ Fales (August 2009). Our family (2 adults/1 child (4 y.o)) have had a few problems at Sina PJ Fales, South Coast, Upolu Island.

Some of them are mentioned below:

1. The owner did not provide a mosquito net for our fale for both days/nights.

Before first night, I talked with owner/manager of the Sina PJ Fales and made a notice about mosquito net.

She said that it will be on its place immediately. Unfortunately, it was never happened.

We have had and used before night a tropical strength anti-mosquito cream, but this did not protect us from bites.

After first night, we have gotten a number of mosquito bites, especially our daughter.

A few times during the second day, I asked owner/manager to put the mosquito net in our fale, but she only answer that she will do it immediately, and never did it.

Second night. And we have gotten a new mosquito bites.

This is unbelievable, but this was like it was.

I would suggest to put on a page of Sina PJ Fales at www.samoa-hotels.ws, should be place a remark (in bold font) that a mosquito net did not provided with owner/manager of Sina PJ Fales, and you must bring your own.

On Sina PJ Fales page at www.samoa-hotels.ws you can easily found:

"Room amenities: Mosquito Nets, Living Room/Sitting Area, Mosquito nets"

2. In addition, we were really surprised, that our daughter (4 y.o.) "only stay for free" at Sina PJ Fales. But if she wants to eat (it seems like, she would not necessary wants to do that), we need to pay for her meals.

It was not a large amount, but for us it was an indication,
that we are not confident for want we need to pay,
for what we do not, and an expectation of a new pays
is not provide a relaxation for our vacational leave.

But, if you look in Sina PJ Fales page at www.samoa-hotels.ws you can easily found:

"Policy on children staying with parents:
- No extra charges for children under 4 years of age"

It seems like, it should be more clarity for something,
that you need to pay on Sina PJ Fales page at www.samoa-hotels.ws.

3. We have found, that there is sufficient annoying advertisement, that placed on a door of our fale at Sina PJ Fales.

It was a note about a strong tradition of Christianity in the village of Sina PJ Fales. So, based on this, there is a very strict requirement for visitors to be inside of their fale (i.e, do not swim, walk, etc., but only sitting inside of fale) at any time between 6:00-6:30 p.m., due to a prayer.

I am Christian, but I never heard about this tradition (i.e., the request, that all tourists must be in their rooms at certain time) in any Christian countries, where I lived before (Europe and North America) and one Buddhism country (Japan). My wife is not Christian, she is from Muslim family. From her words, this type of request (i.e., strict requests for something, that is not necessarily rational) is more similar to Muslim countries traditions.

It seems like it should be better advertise on the page of Sina PJ Fales at www.samoa-hotels.ws,
in a bold font, that if you choose Sina PJ Fales you must accept, that you must be inside of your fale between 6:00-6:30 p.m. every day of your staying at the place.

It will be more proud, to inform visitors in advance, not after their arriving.

4. We were shocked that Sina PJ Fales are under construction at the moment.

All days, there was a permanent movement of large Toyota dump truck with sand in a distance of 5-6 meters from our and others fales.

I would say, that Sina PJ Fales is not a place for vacation at the moment. This is place is more for construction now.

It must be add on a page of Sina PJ Fales at www.samoa-hotels.ws, that the place is under strong construction work at the moment.

5. There is not any night entertainment at Sina PJ Fales at all.

Based on all mentioned above problems, we made low marks for many positions for this place.

From other hand, there were a very positive things as well.

Great thing was related to welcome of our daughter with children of Sina PJ Fales owner/manager. They played all days, without even one crying for two days. It is extremely great and unbelievble. There are very polite children.

For this reason, we mark "Check in/Welcome" position as a "Great".

I hope, our comments help as owner/managers of Sina PJ Fales, as other visitors, to be more prepared for staying at Sina PJ Fales.

Thank you.

Regards,
Clara, Nailya and Evgeny Talantsev"

"This is an awesome place to be! Very recommendable for a real Samoan experience and Malae, Netina, Aska and the kids are gorgeous."
Mr. Nico K. - Germany on 20/06/2009
"This is a great place. The beach is not the best, so bring bathing shoes (corals are easy to cut the feet on), and it is a good idea to rent a car to be able to go to places with better beaches for swimming or restaurants. Very friendly people, and the perfect place for those who like to snorkel or surf and stay in a place which is not so "touristy". Remember to bring cash, as it is very hard to pay with creditcard on the island. "
Mr. Tone Bianca D. - Norway on 09/10/2008
"The accomodation was quite basic but a good price in a nice location. It would make life much easier however with a few little thoughts like a nail or two in the toilet/shower so towels/clothes can be hung up. The evening meal was over priced."
Ms. Fiona H. - New Zealand on 15/08/2008
"Nettina and Malae are absolutely great. They made us feel so welcome it was like being home. The food was great and there always was plenty. They gave us good advice on how to get around and negotiated taxi fares for us. I really recommend Sina PJ Beach Fales. The only down side was that they didn't have credit card/Eftpos facilities."
Mr. Tim L. - New Zealand on 12/08/2008
"Place is very basic. Setting is awesome. Fishing in the channel very exciting. Current along the beach can be storng at times. Be aware that the village is conservative so no swimming on Sunday's (unless you hop around the corner out of view) and no alcohol sales but OK to consume."
Mr. Ray M. - New Zealand on 04/06/2008
"Good food, no toilet paper in bathroom. Need to watch belongings as children come into fale area and touch everything.
friendly family, but felt sometimes that things were a bit of a chore for the wife."
