Paul Caffarelli, Manager

The Siufaga Beach Resort is family owned and operated. Caffarelli, the patriarch, is an Italian married to a Samoan lady, and resides most of the time in Rome.

Paul Caffarelli, one of the many sons, and his beautiful wife Anita Jamieson, a former Miss Samoa, operate the resort on behalf of the family. Paul and Anita are multi-talented-builders, landscape artists, mechanics and cooks. Handling such a large estate at Siufaga has taught them a variety of skills that they never expected to learn. Paul is fluent in Italian, English and Samoan, and Anita, Samoan & English.

To quote Paul, "Come and visit us in our paradise and we will take good care of you."

Traveller Comments:
"Staff were pleasant and friendly. They seemed a little unsure of how to run some aspects of the resort but this is more of a training issue rather than attitude. The resort itself is stunning and a delightful place to stay. Would happily return and recommend it to others."
Ms. Christine G. - New Zealand on 17/08/2009
"Yeah, both my partner and i were not to happy with this resort esspecially at the price they charge, a few things that we were not to happy with, no hot water in the showers at all, the water was cold, good for in the day time but if you wanted a shower before dinner not good, and when we said something upon check out the girl just said that it was warm some parts of the day but did'ent know what time of the day that, that was.
All remotes for air-con and TV had flat batteries so could not opperate temp in room, now for the price you pay per night i mean come on.
It specified cable tv as well there was no cable tv it was turned on about two hours before we had to check out, now if these things don't work or are not on DON'T put it in your web site as it is a selling point and really i have classed this as misleading advertising.
Also when your on holiday you do not expect to be woken up at 8am in the morning by a gardener and his petrol leaf blower, 10am maybee not 8am.
and to top it of when we were leaveing the resort we needed to get back to the ferry terminal we asked for our options, And we were told taxi, now another couple were leaveing aswell so we thought we would ask them if they wanted to share a taxi, to which they replied that they were getting to the ferry in the resorts transfer van which cost 25 tala, now this shocked me as it seemed to me that if the van already had someone booked on it going to the same place, would you not want to make the resort you work for more money as in the long run the resort pays there wages, seemed to me that the staff were looking after there relations who drove the taxis,
over all pretty poor, i would not stay there at all ever again, and as both myself and my partner both work in tourism in New Zealand we know what to expect from the opperaters, and some of the staff very un helpful, wished we had spent our money somewhere else...."

"The accommodation was clean and the waitstaff was excellent. However, for the price, I expected much more of the resort. The internet page bragged about the restaurant which was below average and very expensive. The price was very high for the style of room and the amenities provided. Additional time could be spent in training the waiters and the workers. The food could be improved and the price could be reduced to match the value received. My recommendation would be to stay at another, more reasonably priced hotel. This hotel is taking advantage of the tourists that come to Savaii by misrepresenting the resort on the internet."

"very good"
Mrs. Tionette F. - New Zealand on 07/06/2009
"Fantastic place."
Ms. Diana E. - New Zealand on 20/04/2009
"This resort was of a very high standard. The pool was completed but they were still working on the swim up bar and landscaping. It will be fantastic when its finished. The grounds are superb. Only complaint was I booked a seaside view and got the lagoon view. (pool I presume) When I checked out they told me it was still the same price although you could clearly tell the seaside deluxe was of a higher standard. The restaraunt was allright, it has a fairly decent selection and prices. We loved it."
Mrs. Megan G. - United States on 28/10/2008
"So much enjoyed our stay at Siufaga. Best lagoon on the island with snorkel gear and canoes available for free! It was the holiday of a lifetime."
Mr. Elton W. - Australia on 30/06/2008
"We found this hotel very disappointing. It is a far cry from the "Resort and Spa" that they advertised to be. We went with this hotel as it was one of the more expensive ones on the island, but we quickly learnt that cost does not equal quality. The room was dirty, and the restaurant was dirty and expensive. The soap they provided us was covered in mould and had hair stuck to it. The room had obviously not been cleaned well since the last guests. We have travelled extensively and so are not usually too picky when it comes to hotels, but this one was a real disappointment, particularly for the price we paid. Basically, we found other places that were clean and had better facilities for a lower price. There are some new rooms, but with the state of the old ones, and the restaurant, I doubt they would stay nice for long. The only positive thing about the place was the beautiful water out the front. Shop around a lot before you settle for this hotel!"
Mr. Andrew S. - Australia on 20/04/2007
"We had a lovely stay at Siufaga Beach Resort, accomodation was excellent, location to the wharf was good, staff were friendly and helpful. Spoken to some of the guests there and they had the same opinions. The only thing I would change is the food side of the Resort. Some of us come to Samoa to experiece the South Pacific not only the sights and beautiful sea side but to taste the local cuisine, unfortunately we were served the same food we left behind in our countries which we did not wish to eat in the place like Samoa. What has happened to the lovely palusami, umu, fish etc. We do not want chips which were served with everything
and your lovely fish smothered with mayonaise. You have Italian cuisine in Samoa why not Samoan food. All your fresh fruits like pawpaw which we see grow wild near the roads, mangoes and fresh coconuts. We were served tin fruits from our countries which we could have any day at home."
