Samoa International Game Fishing Tournament - 2010

SIGFA's 2010 Tournament continues to grow in popularity both with local and overseas anglers of both sexes vying for the top prizes. More information can be found on the SIGFA site.
2008 Tournament saw the biggest turnout ever including several white pointers from New Zealand.

Samoa became independant in 1962, being the first island nation in the Pacific to achieve this status. The country takes time out to reflect and celebrate its independance from colonial rule. The fiercely contested "Fautasi Race" (Long boat race) usually wraps up the celebrations for another year.

A truely special day in Samoa, held the second Sunday in October, to celebrate the children. The hundreds of churches around the country come alive with singing, the congregations look splendid in their crisp white outfits - this is a day where children come first. A magical time to visit Samoa.
