Amanaki Hotel

Location: Apia

From: SAT 220

The Amanaki Hotel was a great choice. Close to town, new, friendly and helpful staff. It was a real pleasure to stay there and I will be recommending it to friends and colleagues.

- 15 Aug 2011, Mr Bruce S.

Staff very friendly and room outlook great. Manager was very helpful and kind. Food was in need of more variety and attention in cooking but generally a place I would recommend

The unspoiled venue is unbeatable. The fale were very adequate, and the food was delicious. Gerald Hanna Manhattan, KS USA

The hosts were so accommodating and nothing was a problem. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our time and will certainly consider staying there again in the future.

We loved our stay at Regina's Beach Fales. Our welcome was great and we were made to feel like a part of the family. Would definately recommend it to anyone going to Savaii. The food was great too and they even catered for an aukward veggie!

My only complaint about our room was that the shower head needed replacing. Other wise it was very comfortable.

This place is great value for money. We arrived late due to late arrival of the ferry to Savaii. The management kept the restaurant open for us so that we could have an evening meal when we arrived.

JAN - FEB SPECIAL [Valid from 18 Oct 2011 to 29 Feb 2012]

We cannot comment on anything regarding the accommodation or location or cleanliness. We were stuck at the ferry terminal for over 5 hours in an effort to get to Savaii, and called the accommodation as soon as we found out the ferry was cancelled advising them of the delay. They refused to cancel our accommodation without charge, even though it was due to reasons beyond our control. When my husband and i arrived at the ferry terminal finally at 5.45pm, everything locally was closed, and we were unable to hire a car. A taxi stopped for us and offerred to take us for 200 tala which is the cost of our accommodation for the night. The accommodation did not even offer to collect us or make it known that it was available. We ended up staying at Jet Over Hotel, who took us in at almost half a nights rate compared to that of Vaimoana. Totally disappointed with the whole experience really especially after losing a ehole day of our holiday, with no effort made by the accommodation provider to assist.

Our room was not cleaned and the beds were not made during our stay. Our room was not ready when we arrived. We had to wait for nearly an hour. The location is stunning - the beach is beautiful and there is safe swimming for children. Great to have kayaks for guests' use. The set menu for dinner came as a surprise - the portions were large but the mix of dishes and the quality was not great. Breakfast, on the other hand was delightful.

Very nice place. Good price. Clean. Light breakfast materials. Could be slightly quieter.

Talanoa Fales will be fantastic, once the pool goes in. For now, it's a little too far from Apia, a swimming beach, or local attractions for most travellers. However, once the pool goes in, all of that will be a good thing! Talanoa Fales will be a real retreat from Apia and offer something really unique from the rest of Samoa. The owners are lovely people and really made us feel welcome. We wish them the best in the future.

Aniva is a great ambassador for Samoa. She was extremely welcoming and helpful, even under the sadness of her grief. She could not do enough for us. The girls who did the rooms and breakfast were just awesome. They were always polite and went the extra mile to make us feel special. Their skills with the presentation of towels was awesome. The accommodation was extremely clean - beds and towes changed every day. Breakfast was leisulrely and good. Helpful management at all times with great advice to first time travellers to Samoa. We had a great break in Samoa, and could have stayed longer. An added bonus was the great advice on places to eat and local taxis. We have had the most superb meals and service that is superior to any we have had on our visits to neighbouring Islands in the past.
